Bored at Work

22 04 2008

Since the beginning of the year The Blarney Stone Pub, where I work, has been busier than ever, business is good. That being said, some of the week nights are still a little on the slow side, as is expected from a place that has no food. So I defense of pure and utter bordem I bring my small sketch pad with me. I am finding I am doing better and better work while in the midst of sloshing beer around. Perhaps its almost the lack of focus on the subject thats making the difference. Eh, who the hell knows. Some of these are from tonight, and others are from the past few weeks. The sketch of the tap handles from my first post were done whilst I was working, well trying to appear so.

This one I did a few weeks ago, its one of the best original drawings I have ever done, for whatever reason, I got “it” that time.

Fat Man

Then a week later or so I decided to draw the same guy again, this time not so pathetic. I have always thought the perspective of a character running is interesting.

This next one I’m very proud of, it was a random customer in the bar while I was working. He was sitting perfectly still for the longest time, so I took the oppurtunity.

Man in the Bar

I think these are some of the best I’ve ever done, especially with the fat man being an original drawing.

Thats about all I got for now.

great job dude…

would`ve been pretty funny if after you were done drawing the side-view of last guy…walk up to him, hold up the picture and say in an authoritative voice: “Have you seen this man?”.
